Having regard to the fact whereby businesses process personal data whenever they contact existing or prospective customers, personal data protection and providing informational self-determination to individuals are matters that affect each and every business. Undertakings (data controllers) may only obtain, store and process natural persons’ personal data subject to their preliminary consent. This is why it is of utmost importance for every business to develop its marketing activity (sending newsletter), online services or even a company website so that any personal data control and processing related to such operations complies with the effective Hungarian legal regulations, furthermore takes into consideration the Hungarian National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (NAIH) latest resolutions, as well. On top of that, it is also important for businesses to proceed in compliance with statutory requirements in their capacity as employers when engaging in the processing personal data concerning employees, e.g. for payroll, the use of cameras installed on company premises, and when potentially monitoring employees.
