For more than four decades, ECTA has played a significant role in shaping European trade mark, design and copyright law. Its activities extend well beyond conferences and professional networking events, as the organisation regularly prepares position papers, opinions and recommendations on issues that are expected to influence the future development of intellectual property law and practice across Europe.
One of the conference's key topics was the future of ECTA's Amicus Curiae programme. As an active contributor to this initiative, Dr. Katalin Szamosi is involved in efforts aimed at strengthening ECTA's ability to present well-founded legal positions in cases that may have a significant impact on the development of European intellectual property jurisprudence.
As part of the conference programme, Dr. Péter Lukácsi chaired the first in-person meeting of ECTA's IP Valuation Task Force, which focuses on current issues relating to the valuation of intellectual property assets. The conference also provided an opportunity for a number of international discussions, including meetings with representatives of ASIPI.
Events such as the ECTA Annual Conference provide an important forum for intellectual property professionals from across the world to exchange experience, discuss emerging challenges and contribute to the development of international best practices. We are proud that our colleagues participate not only as attendees but also as active contributors to these important professional initiatives.
