Dr. Péter Lukácsi PH.D. has lectured as a guest speaker at EUIPO Trade Mark and Design Education Programme (ETMD EP) in Alicante on 23 October 2018. Our colleague's lecture was focused on the distinctiveness of shape trademarks, in particular toys and shape of the product or packaging. On one hand, such three-dimensional trademark applications were presented those distinctive character is contested. In the second part of the lecture several examples were introduced that showed distinctive elements. Last but not least, our colleague referred to descriptive trademarks and the acquired distinctiveness by use in the aspect of three-dimensional trademarks.

ETMD EP is a new training programme for intellectual property practitioners by the EUIPO. A comprehensive curriculum of approximately 150 hours of tuition will guide participants through all aspects of European Union trade mark and Community design law and how the EUIPO applies the law in practice.

We are pleased to congratulate for our colleague's new success!
