July 2015 – Minister of Justice Dr. László Trócsányi appointed for a period of five years 191 members of the Council of Copyright Experts – among them, again 6 members of SBGK. Following the proposals and appointment procedures, the Minister has appointed our colleagues Dr. Katalin SZAMOSI, Dr. Enikő KARSAY, Dr. Péter LUKÁCSI in the general and practical issues of copyrights, Zoltán KÖTELES (software), András MÁK (database) and Katalin MÉSZÁROSNÉ DÓNUSZ (industrial design) in specialized areas as members of the Council.
The Council of Copyright Experts celebrated its 130th anniversary of existence last year, its first president was famous Hungarian writer Mór Jókai (current president is Erzsébet Győri). Concerning disputes in copyrights, the Council hands down an opinion by request from the courts or other authorities, while in extra-judical cases, it takes sides by assignment. Our colleagues therefore may assume a role in the creation of statements concerning copyright issues of fundamental importance and other significant issues.
